The burn was pretty severe, 2nd degree with a few layers of skin missing over an area of 2-3" by 6-8". As some of you may know, it is a difficult thing to grow new skin, the risk of infection is high, and this was during a time of physical/emotional trauma as it was only one week since the truck totalled my car. The treatment included applying antibiotic salve, wrapping the leg twice daily with special non-stick, sterile dressing, layers of dressing over that, scrubbing the wound twice daily to remove exudite, keeping it impeccably clean, and a round of strong antibiotics. As you can imagine, all this is difficult to perform to the degree with which it needs to happen and in spite of my best efforts to adhere to this regimen, I believe infection started to set in on a Saturday night 7 days post-burn. I had worked all day and upon arriving home, noticed swelling on the inside of the thigh and some swollen lymph at the top of the thigh. There was greenish discharge from the wound and absolutely NO skin growing, just raw looking flesh, like (at the risk of being melodramatic or gross) "being skinned". I had been under medical supervision for this but didn't want to do antibiotics again, so I called Judy. That night, Judy began the first of two or three? sessions and the next morning, there was SKIN on my leg in several spots. This process continued until within a week, there was skin all over the wound. The swelling in my leg went down by Sunday night, much to my relief, and I did not have to take antibiotics. I believe this healing process would have been delayed and complicated without the wound healing technique that Judy performed for me. Incredible work! Thanks Judy!!!"
